Terms of Service

This User Agreement governs the use of the oldrust.com website, the oldrust.store in-game store, the OldRust launcher, OldRust game servers, and other services associated with the Project.

By using OldRust services, installing or launching the launcher, connecting to game servers, topping up the internal balance, making purchases, or using other Project features, the User confirms that they have read this User Agreement, understand its terms, and agree to comply with them.

If the User does not agree with the terms of this Agreement, they must discontinue use of the relevant OldRust services.

1. Terms and Definitions

OldRust / Project — the set of services provided under the OldRust name, including the website, in-game store, launcher, game servers, and related infrastructure.

Administration — the person or organization responsible for the management, development, and technical maintenance of OldRust.

User — an individual who uses any OldRust service.

Website — the official OldRust online resource available at oldrust.com.

In-Game Store — the OldRust service available at oldrust.store, through which the User may top up the internal balance and purchase in-game goods, services, privileges, and other digital content.

Internal Balance — a notional accounting unit within OldRust services reflecting the amount available to the User for purchasing Project goods and services.

Launcher — OldRust software intended for installing, launching, updating, and supporting the operation of the game client and related components.

Game Server — OldRust server infrastructure intended for multiplayer gameplay.

Service — OldRust functionality provided to the User, including access to certain Project features, digital goods, privileges, and other services.

In-Game Item — a digital object, feature, privilege, cosmetic item, or other digital content provided to the User within OldRust.

Account — a set of data used to identify the User within OldRust services, including through a linked Steam account.

Anti-Cheat — software and technical tools used by OldRust to ensure fair play, detect prohibited software, and protect Project services.

2. Subject of the Agreement

The Administration provides the User with the ability to use OldRust services subject to the terms of this Agreement.

Depending on the service used, the User may be provided with:

  • access to OldRust game servers;
  • the ability to install and launch the game client through the launcher;
  • the ability to receive game client updates;
  • access to website features;
  • access to the in-game store oldrust.store;
  • the ability to top up the internal balance;
  • the ability to purchase digital goods, services, and privileges;
  • access to additional game and technical features of the Project.

Some OldRust services may be provided free of charge, while certain goods, services, or features may be provided for a fee.

3. Acceptance of the Agreement

The User is deemed to have accepted the terms of this Agreement upon performing one or more of the following actions:

  • using the OldRust website;
  • installing or launching the OldRust launcher;
  • connecting to an OldRust game server;
  • signing in to Project services;
  • topping up the internal balance;
  • making a purchase on oldrust.store;
  • using a purchased digital item or service;
  • otherwise actually using OldRust services.

By performing the above actions, the User confirms that they have the legal capacity required to accept this Agreement under applicable law.

If the laws of the User’s country require the consent of a parent or legal guardian, the User is responsible for obtaining such consent.

4. Account and Steam

Certain OldRust features may require a Steam account.

The User is solely responsible for:

  • the security of their account;
  • keeping Steam access credentials secure;
  • actions performed using their account;
  • granting third parties access to their account.

OldRust does not request the User’s Steam password and is not responsible for loss of access to a Steam account for reasons unrelated to the actions of the Administration.

The Administration may use Steam ID / SteamID64 to identify the User within OldRust services.

5. Rules for Using the Services

The User agrees to use OldRust lawfully and in accordance with this Agreement, the rules of the game servers, and other officially published Project rules.

The User is prohibited from:

  • using cheats or other prohibited software;
  • using software or devices to gain an unfair advantage;
  • interfering with the operation of the game client, launcher, anti-cheat, or server infrastructure;
  • attempting to disable, modify, or bypass OldRust protection systems;
  • exploiting vulnerabilities, bugs, or undocumented service behavior to gain an advantage or cause damage;
  • attacking OldRust infrastructure;
  • creating artificial load on servers, APIs, the website, or other services;
  • gaining unauthorized access to data, systems, or accounts;
  • distributing malicious software through OldRust services;
  • impersonating a representative of the Administration;
  • using OldRust services for purposes that violate applicable law.

Additional rules governing conduct directly on game servers may be published separately.

6. Anti-Cheat and Protection Systems

To ensure fair play and security, OldRust may use proprietary and third-party anti-cheat and technical protection systems.

By using OldRust game servers and the corresponding game client, the User agrees to the operation of such systems to the extent described in the OldRust Privacy Policy.

The User is prohibited from:

  • disabling the anti-cheat system;
  • interfering with anti-cheat operation;
  • modifying anti-cheat components;
  • attempting to bypass detection methods;
  • falsifying data transmitted to the protection system;
  • using software or hardware to bypass anti-cheat protection;
  • analyzing anti-cheat systems for the purpose of developing or distributing methods of bypassing them.

The Administration may use automated and manual analysis methods to detect violations.

Anti-cheat results may be used by the Administration when reviewing possible violations of Project rules.

The technical operation of anti-cheat systems, detection algorithms, signatures, heuristics, internal configurations, and other information whose disclosure may facilitate circumvention of protection are confidential technical information of the Project and are not subject to disclosure except where expressly required by applicable law.

The processing of personal and technical data by anti-cheat systems is governed by the separate OldRust Privacy Policy.

7. Suspension and Restriction of Access

If the User violates this Agreement, game server rules, or security requirements, the Administration may take measures against the User.

Depending on the circumstances, such measures may include:

  • warning;
  • temporary restriction of certain features;
  • temporary suspension;
  • permanent suspension;
  • restriction of access to certain game servers;
  • restriction of access to other OldRust services.

The Administration may take into account the nature of the violation, its severity, recurrence, and other circumstances.

An attempt to circumvent an imposed suspension may be treated as a separate violation.

The Administration may also temporarily restrict access to an account or certain features where there are reasonable grounds to suspect account compromise, fraud, a technical attack, or another security threat.

8. Gameplay

The User understands and agrees that OldRust is a continuously evolving gaming Project.

The Administration may change:

  • game mechanics;
  • balance;
  • item characteristics;
  • maps;
  • plugins;
  • game modes;
  • number of servers;
  • server schedules;
  • resource gathering settings;
  • in-game economy;
  • available goods and privileges;
  • technical parameters;
  • interface;
  • other gameplay elements.

Such changes do not, by themselves, constitute grounds for compensation or a refund for digital goods or services previously used, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

9. Wipes and Preservation of Game Progress

The User understands that Rust gameplay and OldRust servers involve periodic wipes.

As a result of a wipe, the following may be deleted or reset:

  • constructed objects;
  • in-game items;
  • resources;
  • character progress;
  • learned items;
  • container contents;
  • other game world data.

The schedule and conditions of wipes are determined by the Administration and may change.

Game resources and progress that are, by their nature, intended to exist only during a single game cycle or wipe are not considered permanently owned digital assets of the User.

10. In-Game Store

The User may top up the internal balance and purchase digital goods and services through the official in-game store:

oldrust.store

The assortment, description, price, and duration of goods or services are specified directly in the in-game store.

Depending on the specific offer, the User may purchase:

  • in-game privileges;
  • cosmetic items;
  • additional gameplay features;
  • digital items;
  • other goods or services offered in the store.

Before completing a transaction, the User must independently review:

  • the top-up amount;
  • the description of the purchased good or service;
  • the price;
  • the duration;
  • the terms of provision;
  • the account to which the top-up or purchase will be credited.

By making payment, the User confirms that they have reviewed the specified information.

11. OldRust Internal Balance

The User may top up the internal balance of their account for subsequent purchases of OldRust goods and services.

The internal balance:

  • is intended solely for use within OldRust services;
  • is used to purchase goods and services available in the in-game store;
  • is not a bank account or bank deposit;
  • is not intended to hold funds for subsequent withdrawal;
  • does not accrue interest or other financial returns;
  • may not be exchanged by the User for cash or non-cash funds, except where expressly required by applicable law;
  • may not be transferred to another account unless such functionality is separately provided by OldRust.

The displayed internal balance amount is information within the OldRust system and is used solely for settlements related to Project goods and services.

12. Prices and Payment Procedure

Current prices for balance top-ups, goods, and services are specified on oldrust.store.

The Administration may change the prices of goods and services.

Price changes do not apply to transactions that have already been completed.

Payment may be made through third-party payment providers and payment methods available at the time of the transaction.

The actual range of available payment methods may depend on:

  • the User’s region;
  • currency;
  • the payment provider used;
  • technical availability of the relevant payment method.

When processing a payment, the User may also be required to accept the terms of the relevant payment provider.

Fees charged by a bank, payment system, or other intermediary, if applicable, may be calculated separately from the price specified by OldRust.

13. Balance Top-Ups and Refunds

Before confirming a top-up of the internal balance, the User must independently verify:

  • the selected top-up amount;
  • the account being used;
  • the payment method;
  • the payment currency;
  • other information displayed before the transaction is completed.

Once payment has been successfully processed and funds have been credited to the OldRust internal balance, the top-up transaction is considered completed.

Funds successfully credited to the OldRust internal balance are not refundable, may not be exchanged for money, and may not be withdrawn from the system at the User’s initiative, except where a refund is expressly required by applicable law.

In particular, a refund may be considered in the event of:

  • an erroneous duplicate charge;
  • a successful charge without the corresponding amount being credited to the internal balance;
  • a technical error by OldRust or the payment provider;
  • an unauthorized transaction confirmed in accordance with the applicable procedure;
  • other cases where a refund is expressly required by applicable law.

After internal balance funds have been used to purchase a digital item, service, in-game item, or privilege, the used amount is non-refundable, except where the User’s corresponding right is expressly provided by applicable law.

The following do not, by themselves, constitute grounds for a refund:

  • the User changing their mind after a successful top-up;
  • the User selecting an incorrect amount where the transaction was otherwise correctly executed;
  • no longer wishing to use OldRust;
  • changes to game balance;
  • changes to the characteristics of an in-game item;
  • a wipe;
  • modification or closure of a particular game server;
  • expiration of a temporary privilege;
  • suspension of the User for violating OldRust rules;
  • inability to use the service due to actions or technical issues on the User’s side.

To request review of a payment made as a result of a technical error or an unauthorized transaction, the User must contact OldRust’s official support service and provide the information necessary to identify the relevant transaction.

14. Provision of Digital Goods and Services

A digital good or service is considered provided upon:

  • successful crediting to the account;
  • activation;
  • granting of the relevant privilege;
  • enabling access to a feature;
  • otherwise providing the User with the ability to use the good or service as described.

In some cases, provision occurs automatically.

If a good was not provided due to a technical error, the User may contact OldRust support.

The Administration may request information necessary to verify the payment and the fact that the good was provided.

If the issue is confirmed, the Administration may:

  • provide the good again;
  • restore the relevant service;
  • credit the required amount to the internal balance;
  • use another reasonable method to correct the technical error.

15. Duration of Goods and Privileges

Certain goods or privileges may be provided for a limited period.

The duration is specified in the description of the relevant offer on oldrust.store.

Once the specified period expires, the relevant feature automatically ceases to apply.

The User is responsible for reviewing the duration before purchase.

Expiration of a previously specified period does not constitute grounds for a refund.

16. Promo Codes, Bonuses, and Promotions

OldRust may run promotions and provide promo codes, bonuses, discounts, and other special offers.

The terms of such offers may be established separately.

The Administration may determine:

  • the expiration period of a promo code;
  • the number of times it may be used;
  • the group of users eligible to use it;
  • the goods to which it applies;
  • the minimum purchase amount;
  • other terms of a specific promotion.

Promo codes, bonuses, and other free credits have no independent monetary value and may not be exchanged for money unless otherwise expressly stated by the Administration or required by applicable law.

The Administration may cancel a bonus granted as a result of a technical error, abuse, or violation of the relevant promotion terms.

17. Maintenance and Service Availability

The Administration strives to ensure stable operation of OldRust, but does not guarantee uninterrupted and continuous availability of all services.

Operation of the website, in-game store, launcher, or game servers may be temporarily restricted due to:

  • maintenance;
  • updates;
  • bug fixes;
  • incidents;
  • network issues;
  • DDoS attacks and other external attacks;
  • hosting provider issues;
  • CDN issues;
  • actions of third parties;
  • force majeure events.

The Administration may perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Temporary technical unavailability of a service does not, by itself, constitute grounds for an automatic refund.

18. Changes to and Termination of Services

The Administration may modify, update, temporarily suspend, or discontinue individual features, game servers, or OldRust services.

In the event of material changes, the Administration may, where possible, notify users through the Project’s official information resources.

The Administration does not guarantee the indefinite existence of any particular:

  • game server;
  • mode;
  • feature;
  • item;
  • plugin;
  • mechanic;
  • privilege;
  • interface.

If discontinuation of a particular paid service creates obligations toward the User under applicable law, such obligations will be fulfilled to the extent required by law.

19. OldRust Intellectual Property

Rights to elements created specifically for OldRust belong to their respective rights holders.

Such elements may include:

  • the OldRust name and branding;
  • website design;
  • launcher design;
  • source code of proprietary components;
  • graphic materials;
  • texts;
  • databases;
  • proprietary plugins and systems;
  • interface elements;
  • other materials created for the Project.

Unless expressly permitted by the Administration, the User may not:

  • copy such materials for commercial use;
  • distribute the source code of closed components;
  • modify or resell OldRust software components;
  • present OldRust materials as their own;
  • use Project branding in a manner that creates a false impression of official cooperation.

Rights to third-party games, software, trademarks, graphic materials, and other subject matter belong to their respective rights holders.

20. Reverse Engineering and Interference with Software

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the User is prohibited from taking actions aimed at bypassing protection or gaining unauthorized access to closed OldRust components.

In particular, the User is prohibited from:

  • decompiling closed OldRust components for the purpose of bypassing protection;
  • modifying the launcher to gain unauthorized access;
  • substituting update components;
  • interfering with data exchange between OldRust services;
  • bypassing authorization mechanisms;
  • researching anti-cheat systems for the purpose of developing circumvention tools;
  • distributing tools or instructions intended to bypass technical protection systems.

This Section does not restrict User rights that may not be restricted under applicable law.

21. Third-Party Services

OldRust may use third-party services and infrastructure, including:

  • Steam;
  • payment systems;
  • CDNs;
  • hosting providers;
  • protection systems;
  • authentication services;
  • other technology services.

Use of such services may additionally be governed by the terms of the relevant providers.

OldRust is not responsible for the actions of independent third-party services that are outside the reasonable control of the Administration.

22. User Responsibility

The User is responsible for their actions when using OldRust.

In particular, the User is solely responsible for:

  • violation of this Agreement;
  • violation of game server rules;
  • use of prohibited software;
  • actions involving their own account;
  • granting third parties access to their account;
  • accuracy of information provided when making a payment;
  • selection of the top-up amount;
  • selection of the account to be topped up;
  • infringement of the rights of other users or third parties;
  • damage caused to OldRust services through intentional unlawful actions.

23. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, OldRust services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

The Administration does not guarantee that:

  • the services will operate continuously;
  • the services will never contain errors;
  • connection to game servers will always be available;
  • in-game progress will never be lost due to technical malfunction;
  • functionality will always meet the personal expectations of a particular User;
  • third-party services will always be available.

The Administration is not responsible for service disruptions caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including:

  • issues with the User’s internet service provider;
  • Steam issues;
  • payment system failures;
  • data center issues;
  • network attacks;
  • CDN failures;
  • actions of government authorities;
  • other independent services and circumstances.

Nothing in this Section excludes liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

24. Force Majeure

The Parties are released from liability for failure to perform their obligations where such failure is caused by force majeure circumstances that could not reasonably have been foreseen or prevented.

Such circumstances may include:

  • natural disasters;
  • military actions;
  • emergencies;
  • large-scale infrastructure failures;
  • large-scale network attacks;
  • actions of government authorities;
  • power or communications outages;
  • data center failures;
  • serious disruptions of the global network;
  • other extraordinary and unavoidable circumstances.

25. Privacy Policy

The processing of the User’s personal data is governed by the separate OldRust Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy sets out, in particular:

  • what personal and technical data may be processed;
  • the purposes of processing;
  • information retention procedures;
  • the specifics of anti-cheat processing of technical data;
  • disclosure of data to third-party services;
  • the User’s rights with respect to their personal data.

By using OldRust services, the User confirms that they have reviewed the Privacy Policy in the cases and to the extent required by applicable law.

26. Changes to the User Agreement

The Administration may periodically amend this User Agreement.

The current version is published on OldRust’s official resources.

The date of the latest update is stated at the beginning of the document.

Changes take effect upon publication of the new version or on another date expressly specified in the updated document.

If a change requires separate User consent under applicable law, such consent may be requested separately.

Continued use of the services after permissible changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

27. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any claim or disagreement, the User is encouraged to first contact OldRust support in an attempt to resolve the matter.

The Parties seek to resolve disputes through negotiation.

If a dispute cannot be resolved in this manner, it will be resolved in accordance with applicable law and the rules governing the competent court.

This Agreement does not restrict the User’s right to apply to government authorities or courts in cases provided by law.

28. Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be wholly or partially invalid or unenforceable, this does not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.

The remaining terms continue to apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

29. Final Provisions

This User Agreement governs the relationship between the User and the Administration in connection with the use of OldRust services.

The User may not assign their rights and obligations under this Agreement to third parties unless such assignment is permitted by the Administration or applicable law.

Failure by the Administration to exercise any right under this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of that right in the future.

Section headings are used solely for convenience and do not affect the interpretation of the Agreement.

This Agreement is executed in the English language.

By using OldRust, the User confirms that they have read this Agreement, understood its contents, and accept its terms.

30. Contact Information

For questions related to the use of OldRust, the internal balance, purchases, this User Agreement, or other Project services, the User may contact OldRust’s official support service.
